Vrge vs Pipedrive
Pipedrive is a pipeline-first sales CRM, and it waits for you to type into it. Vrge reads your email, calendar, files, bank and QuickBooks and proposes the clients, projects and invoices, and you approve each one. One is a subscription per seat; the other is bought once and runs on your machine. Here is where each wins.

Where Pipedrive is better
Five things Pipedrive does that Vrge does not, or does worse. If these are your business, buy Pipedrive.
The pipeline. Pipedrive’s pipeline is, in our view, the best in the category: drag and drop through stages you define, several pipelines side by side, custom fields, a forecast view, and “rotting”, which flags a deal after a number of idle days you set for each stage. Vrge has one board with four fixed lifecycle columns for clients: Lead, Active, Wrapping Up, Inactive. No custom stages, no probabilities, no forecast. If your business is a sales pipeline, Pipedrive is the better pipeline.
The sales inbox. Pipedrive syncs Gmail, Outlook, Exchange and IMAP so you send and receive inside it, links conversations to contacts and deals by email address, and adds templates, open and click tracking, scheduling, group email and Sequences, a series of automated and manual steps. Sync and Sequences start on its Growth plan. Vrge has none of that. It reads mail and never writes to your mailbox: no templates, no tracking, no sequences.
Automation. Pipedrive Automations create deals and activities, update records, send emails and assign tasks when something happens, with 50 active automations on Growth, 150 on Premium, 250 on Ultimate, up to ten actions each. Vrge ships four fixed rules, and the one that creates a record (an invoice draft when a project wraps up) still lands in the Inbox for you to approve. The only rules you can write yourself are for bank transactions (a merchant that is always one category, a payer whose payments you always accept), and a record a rule applies is undoable like any accept.
Mobile. Pipedrive has iPhone and Android apps with an Offline Mode. Vrge has no mobile app. Solo Vrge is a desktop app for Mac and Windows; team mode adds a web client that works on a phone.
Reach. Pipedrive lists over 500 marketplace integrations, and its enrichment fills in a company’s industry, headcount, revenue, website and LinkedIn when you click Enrich, on Premium and Ultimate, against monthly credits. Vrge connects to the sources it can read and has no marketplace.

Where the Pipedrive statements come from
Every Pipedrive statement on this page was read on pipedrive.com or its knowledge base on September 5, 2026: the homepage, how pricing works, the entry price (and again), email sync, the sales inbox, creating a contact from an email, Sequences, automations, automation limits, data enrichment, invoicing, rotting, Pipedrive AI, pipeline management, forecasting, the mobile app, integrations and privacy and security.
Pipedrive’s pricing page refuses automated readers, so the entry price is the one Pipedrive states in two of its own 2026 blog posts. The five-seat and three-year figures are our arithmetic on that price. “Not described” means the feature does not appear on the pages above; it is not a claim that it does not exist. Prices and tiers change, and the date is the check.
Five differences that decide it
Neither tool is the other one with a feature missing. They start from different questions: Pipedrive asks where each deal is; Vrge asks what already happened in your email, calendar and bank, and writes it down for you to approve.
In Pipedrive a new contact from an email is a button: open the thread, click Create new contact, fill in the form, save. Enrichment can then add the company’s industry, headcount, revenue and LinkedIn, on Premium and Ultimate, one credit at a time. In Vrge the email itself produces a draft client and, if the message is a brief, the project beside it, with the evidence attached. You still click. You click Approve on a record that is already filled in.
Vrge only proposes when there is something structural to go on: a sender domain, a signature block, a calendar organiser, a bank memo. A guess without evidence is held back rather than shown. How the Inbox works.
Pipedrive describes itself as a web-based CRM, hosted in AWS data centers in Europe and the US. Vrge is a desktop app for Mac and Windows. Your records are a SQLite file on your own disk, the app works with no connection at all, and export to JSON or CSV is one click, even after a license has expired. Where your data lives.
Team mode adds a server you run yourself, in Docker, with invites, roles and live sync between teammates. Nobody at Vrge can see it. Self-hosting · Team mode.
Pipedrive’s AI writes and summarises email, recommends deals and generates reports, inside their service. Vrge has no AI chat. Its AI refines proposals in the background, and you choose what runs it: your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Google key, Ollama on your own machine so nothing leaves it, or the optional Managed AI subscription from $10 a month. The first two are free forever.
Every call is logged with the provider, the token count and the redaction mode in force, and one button, Pause AI, stops all of it. Choosing an AI · The trust contract.
Pipedrive’s invoicing creates an invoice in QuickBooks from a deal’s detail view, on every plan, and you need the accounting app for it. Nothing on the Pipedrive pages we checked reads a bank feed or matches a payment to an invoice.
Vrge reads Stripe, Square, Plaid-connected bank accounts and plain bank CSVs. When a deposit matches an open invoice it proposes marking it paid. Money going out is proposed as an expense with a category, so the year ends with a Schedule C tax pack instead of a shoebox. The QuickBooks connection is read-only: it pulls invoices in and never pushes anything back. Connecting sources.
Pipedrive’s rotting flags a deal after a number of idle days you set for each stage, and its activities remind you of what you scheduled. Vrge derives its loops from your mail, calendar and invoice list: replies you owe, replies you are waiting on, meetings with no follow-up yet, and invoices past due, with no AI and nothing to maintain. When the reply arrives or the invoice is paid, the loop closes on its own. Open Loops.
