Team License Only
Solo Vrge keeps everything on one computer. A Team license adds a server you run, so several people share one set of records and everybody sees a change the moment it happens.
How it works
Three steps, and only the first one involves you:
- You install Vrge's server once. A Docker container on a company machine, or a small cloud server. You enter your license key there, one time. The self-hosting guide walks through it.
- You invite people by email.Give the server a mail provider once — Resend, or your own SMTP — and it sends each invite for you.
- They sign in and start working. In a browser, or in the Vrge desktop app pointed at your server address. Either way it is an email and a password, nothing else.
Your team never sees a license key
The license lives on your server, entered once by you. Nobody else enters one, manages one, or can lose one. There is no per-person activation and nothing to hand out when somebody joins or leaves. You invite them, or you remove them.
One shared workspace, not a copy each
There is one set of records on your server. When someone adds a client or marks an invoice paid, everyone else sees it straight away. It is not several separate copies of Vrge to be reconciled later. That is the difference a Team license buys.
How many people your license covers
A Team license is counted in people, and you are one of them. Team Starter is you plus four colleagues, not you plus five.

Computers don't count — people do. One person using Vrge on a work laptop, a desktop at home, and a browser on their phone is still one person. Use as many as you like.
When every place is taken, the next invite is refused with a clear message rather than quietly failing. Free one up by removing someone who has left, or buy the next tier up at its listed price. More than 40 people? Get in touch.
What stays on each person's own computer
Shared records live on the server. Everything else does not. Usually one person — the owner — connects the business's email, calendar, files and bank, and those are read on their own computer. Their proposal inbox is private to them: colleagues never see unreviewed proposals, AI keys, or the raw content behind them. Only a record somebody actually accepts becomes shared. Anyone else who wants to connect their own accounts can, on their own computer, with their own private inbox — but nobody has to, and most teams do not.
Worth knowing before you buy
- You run the server. Vrge does not host it for you. It is a Docker container and it is not difficult, but it is yours to keep running and to back up.
- Team members need to reach the server.Solo Vrge works fully offline. Someone on a plane can't reach shared records until they reconnect.
- Saved rules are solo-only for now.The “decide once” rules Vrge learns from your inbox choices are kept per computer and aren't shown in team mode yet. Sharing them across a team is the first thing on the list after launch.
- Vrge Cloud Backup is for solo installs.In team mode your records live in the server's database, so backing them up is part of running the server — one command, covered in the self-hosting guide, and worth putting on a schedule. Vrge hides its backup controls in team mode rather than write a file that would not contain your team's work. Hosted backup for team servers comes after launch.
